Pebble Round 2 Delayed: First Pre-Orders Ship Late June

The verdict

Pebble has confirmed Round 2 production is pushed to late May, meaning first-batch pre-orders won't ship until around the end of June — nearly two months later than planned.

Anyone who pre-ordered the Pebble Round 2 smartwatch earlier this year will need to wait a bit longer — Pebble has now confirmed that production will start in late May 2026, with the first batch of pre-orders reaching customers around the end of June rather than in May as originally planned.

What happened

After its debut at CES 2026 in January, the Pebble Round 2 was warmly received as a reboot of the 2015 Pebble Time Round. It’s priced at $199, with a 8.1mm-thin stainless steel design, a 1.3-inch color e-paper display, and a 10–14 day battery.

But at the end of February, Pebble confirmed a shipping delay: the Time 2 entered mass production in March, while Round 2 has to wait until late May because key tests — including water-resistance testing on the case — still need to be completed.

The new timeline to know

  • Pebble Time 2 — entered mass production on March 10, 2026, at a rate of 500 units per day. April pre-orderers should expect their watches in June
  • Pebble Round 2 — production starts in late May, with the first batch shipping around the end of June, according to Notebookcheck
  • Pebble Index 01 (the new fitness band) — in final testing and on track to ship within May

Pebble itself stated bluntly on its blog that “every date and estimate here is subject to change” and “if there’s a problem, we’ll halt production until it’s fixed,” which means another delay is still possible — particularly for Round 2, which still has steps to clear.

What it means for buyers

Pebble fans who pre-ordered through rePebble directly don’t need to panic — your card isn’t charged until your unit is queued for shipping, and the site lets you cancel anytime before the unit leaves the factory. If you’re on the fence, this might be a good window to wait for hands-on reviews from early buyers in June and July before committing.

From ToolNerdy’s perspective: a color e-paper display and two-week battery life are real differentiators for anyone tired of charging an Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch every day. But once you factor in shipping and import duties, the all-in price can creep into premium-smartwatch territory — worth weighing carefully before you commit.
