Copper CRM Review 2026: The Google Workspace CRM
The verdict
Copper is a CRM designed exclusively for Google Workspace users. It integrates natively with Gmail and Google Calendar, automatically logging emails and meetings without any manual data entry.
What Is Copper?
Copper is a CRM platform built exclusively for Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) users. Its core value proposition is native Gmail and Google Calendar integration that automatically captures emails, meetings, and files associated with contacts—eliminating the manual data entry that makes most CRM adoption fail. Copper was originally called ProsperWorks before rebranding in 2018. It is Google’s recommended CRM partner and is deeply embedded in the Gmail interface through a sidebar that displays contact and deal information alongside emails.
Core Features
Google Workspace Integration is Copper’s defining feature. The Gmail sidebar shows the complete relationship history of any contact you’re emailing—deals in progress, past meetings, notes, and files—without switching applications. Calendar events are automatically created as meetings in Copper and linked to the relevant contacts. Emails are logged automatically when Gmail is connected, requiring no manual entry. Contact records are automatically enriched with publicly available social and company data when a new contact is added.
Pipeline Management
Copper’s Kanban pipeline allows sales teams to track deals through customizable stages, with drag-and-drop deal movement and probability weighting for forecasting. Multiple pipelines support teams with different sales processes (e.g., one for new business, another for renewals). Activity reminders prompt reps to follow up when contacts have gone too long without interaction.
Automation and Templates
Workflow automation triggers actions when deal stages change, contacts are created, or activities occur—sending email notifications, creating tasks, or updating fields. Email templates with personalization variables allow quick outreach without leaving Gmail. Sequences automate multi-step email follow-ups for prospects or leads.
Pricing
The Basic plan is $23 per user per month (billed annually) and covers up to 3 users with core CRM features. Professional at $59 per user per month adds multiple pipelines, workflow automation, and reporting. Business at $99 per user per month includes lead scoring, custom reports, and website tracking. All plans include the Google Workspace integration.
Strengths and Limitations
Copper’s automatic data capture is its strongest advantage—teams that have failed to adopt other CRMs due to manual entry friction often succeed with Copper because it does the logging for them. The Gmail experience is seamless and fast. The limitation is platform dependency: Copper works only for Google Workspace users and is not suitable for organizations using Outlook or other email clients. Feature depth also lags behind Salesforce and HubSpot for complex sales operations.
Verdict
Copper is the best CRM for teams that run their business primarily through Gmail. The automatic activity capture alone provides CRM adoption rates significantly higher than manual-entry alternatives. For Google Workspace teams doing relationship-driven sales, it is difficult to find a more frictionless option.
